Osteopathy Training We currently run one and two–day workshops in Postural Assessment Skills and Advanced Soft Tissue Techniques. These training courses are suitable for all qualified Massage Therapists and Bodyworkers who have an Anatomy & Physiology qualification and a massage qualification, ITEC equivalent or above. Day 1 – Postural Assessment What are your clients telling you? – Truly understanding who and what you’re treating is the foundation of effective therapy. By using a blend of sound clinical knowledge and skilful assessment work, you will be able to uncover this in the all important initial assessment – way before your client is uncovered. Could your client’s footwear be an indicator of low back pain? Mannerisms, posture, gait – What is your client’s body telling you? Unlock these mysteries and become a dynamic therapist. · Hands off – look, listen, learn · Insight into spinal mechanics · Improved examination skills This invaluable one–day workshop will revolutionise the way you assess your clients from the moment they walk into your treatment room, enhancing confidence and rapport. Day 2 Advanced Soft Tissue Techniques This training session has a more practical element than the one above, as it provides instantly effective 'hands-on' soft tissue and mobilisation techniques. The lessons include: · General & physical examination · How to palpate and distinguish anatomical structures · Advanced Soft Tissue and Mobilisation Techniques · Warning signs and when not to treat · Looking after yourself – practitioner posture · Safe and skilful patient handling As well as developing your own observational and analytical skills, you will also learn the right questions and how to ask them. When? Our workshops are run on consecutive days on selected weekends or taken individually. Please phone directly on 01932 765815 or 770601 to find out the next available workshop date.

Testimonials
“At last, exactly what I had been looking for – the missing link – a
systematic approach to diagnosis and treatment. As a result I have
become more confident in my abilities and effective in my
treatments.”
“This is a course that’s not to be missed if you are a serious
massage therapist. Robert teaches in a way that is conducive to each
student. He seems to know what each person’s learning needs are, as
he uses a student centred approach to his teaching. As the class
numbers are small, you get more hands on experience and time for
each individual to grasp the knowledge and understanding. I was so
impressed that I’ve invited Robert to our local FHT group meeting to
demonstrate to the members. This is knowledge that should be
shared!”
“There was so much interesting and useful information given out over
the course, I was only sorry I didn’t take more notes. Getting to
grips with the new methods of treatment was the first hurdle to
overcome but having begun to appreciate the importance of this
everything started falling into place. Working on clients now is a
completely different experience. I have changed the direction of my
work. Treatments feel progressive now rather than purely passive.”
